Wrapping Up 2023: Christmas Closedown!

Well the end of the year is fast approaching with Christmas already just around the corner. It's been a big year of changes for us at Yum Jar, what with our move to Wellington, our kitchen build progress slowly but surely trucking along, welcoming some new staff and farewelling others off on their new journeys. We are so grateful for ALL of your support along the way and can't wait to get back into it, in our new space, in 2024, after a short, but much-needed break!

Christmas/New Year Closedown:

Yum Jar will be closing from December 23rd for 2 weeks, and reopening on January 8th 2024. Orders for the last deliveries of the year will close on Friday 16th December. We have limited extra slots for free jar pickup requests available too so please make your orders quick before we run out of room. If you can hold onto your jars over the break that is absolutely fine too.

Kitchen Build Update!

We are thrilled to announce that our kitchen is now well underway! The walls are built, the vinyl has been laid, stainless steel walls are up, and there's not too much left to do except the ventilation installation, plumbing, then bringing all the equipment back in and setting up! We will of course also have to get the council to sign off on the build, and to sign off on our food safety certificate for the new premises. But all going well, we will be able to start working in there from January 8th! The space itself is a lot bigger than our current temporary spot, and our old place in Porirua, so we look forward to being able to expand our numbers and our offerings next year. Stay tuned for more updates in 2024!

Please note: our final week of deliveries runs from December 18th-22nd, so if you want to serve these at your Christmas table we recommend ordering for a delivery on the Thursday or Friday of that week, so your box contents are as fresh as possible.

I found my dress at local small business Eco Bride, who rescue and sell preloved wedding dresses! While not an official team member, Sam has provided a lot of free tech support, taste testing, and delivery driving over the years! He's been an absolutely incredible support for us from day 1, through all inevitable twists and turns of running a small business, and I couldn't be more lucky to call him my husband. 💖
